From the President:
Greetings in the name of the Lord! I want to encourage everyone to make plans to attend our Annual meeting on October 19th and 20th. Exciting things have been happening in our Association! On Monday night, our Women’s Missionary Auxiliary (WMA) and Brotherhood will meet at 5:30 PM to plan their projects and events for the upcoming year. Then, the WMA and Brotherhood will be partnering with Missions to host a meal and concert. Peach Goldman will once again be with us for a concert this year; they are a Contemporary Southern Gospel band, and if you missed them last year, you may want to make plans to come hear them this year- they’re worth the effort. It will be a night focused on worship and fellowship while highlighting our Missions and Youth Departments. Bro. Chris will be sharing with us about what God is doing in Missions with the Timothy Ministries and Revitalize, and Bro. Anders will be giving his report on our Youth Department. Exciting things are happening! Many kids are being saved, and God is calling young men to preach and to serve in the ministry. I promise you that you’ll enjoy what we have planned for Monday night.
On Tuesday, we will start our business meeting and annual reports with a time of worship and special music. Then, we will have our President’s message and begin our reports. Last year’s theme was “Greater Things to Come,” and this year’s theme is “Greater Things Together.” God is doing great things across the board in our state, new and exciting things as well. Please plan to join us on Tuesday to hear from our State Department heads and our National Department heads, who will be joining us that day for a Q&A panel. Also, Just the Crumbs will be with us on Tuesday to cater our lunch, and we’ll be giving donations to that ministry.
I want to thank our department leaders for their help during my time as president, and to Good Hope for their support in allowing me to serve in this role. It has been a blessing and an honor to be able to serve the churches of the Baptist Missionary Association of Mississippi as your president for these past two years, and I look forward to seeing what God will do in the future through the efforts of His churches.
